Dear all,
From all your views, I would also like to add something which is SPICY in this topic that is "THE BEST HR IS THAT PERSON WHO CAN MANAGE BOTH COMPANY AS WELL AS HIS FAMILY" this means he should complete the work within the time frame of 9-6 and back to his social life.
What does the HR basically means?
"manage people",then they can be from office as well as home.

Hi Everybody, in a normal life there is a limitation for every subject.everyone who works for company are human.everyone is work to earn money.why should we earn money, its simply we need to satisfy our social life.to satisfy our social life we need spend time.for whom we are spending our time?family, friends. if we cant satisfy these 2 category why should we need work more n more.there is no end point for HR work so maximum can work for 10hrs, the person who is working late night they are unfit to be HR.try to share your work with junior n trainee.try to finish your work within the hours.10hrs job, 8hrs sleep, 2hrs journey, at least spend 3hrs with your family everyday.for them only everyone is working, we are maintaining welfare for every employee and also look after us.if i said anything wrong please guide me since am working only to look after my belongings.

Hi Folks,
If we could organise our work properly, we need not stretch for long hours. Of course, when the situation demands as a HR professional we stand infront and work out. Above this, a good HR professional should anticipate things well and act accordingly. This way, a HR professional can plan his/her activity and complete it in time. Hence, 8 - 9 hours of work will suffice most of the time.
Also, role of HR cannot be compared with techie's role. Techie's job includes lot of client interaction and other interdependencies among their team members for deliverables.
For your comments folks!!!

Hi All
Im totally against the concept of working hours as mentioned. HR Professional are the role model for any org. Working for a certain or compartment based hours is not justified, specially when you do work a any SM or top MNC.

Hi..
Well, it depends on the situation. Sometimes, HR personnel will have to work even 13-14 hrs especially during Salary time, New Hiring etc. Training and performance appraisal time too demands more time. And lastly, it also depends upon the COMPANY profile- which sector your working with.
Thanks

i work for an IT company and its operations, especialy BPO is 24/7. Thus I do ask my staff to come at night or weekends to provide complete HR cover. We do this once a week. I usualy pop by on weekends, and walk around the premises to see if there is a HR issue to attend to.
Hi!
That's a nice topic to discuss, my view is that in every field at times in private sector one has to work late hours. In my organistation we have diferent sites running , so for that if its civil work going on at times people from civil dept. would waite for late hours, so its as per the work load the technical people have to adjust their work. But as an HR you have to be in service all 24x7 hours.
For recuritement also at times we have to fix out the interviews on holidays or after office hours, as that is time when both - candidate and interviewer can relax and discuss.

i agree with alot of people here.... its not always the time frame necessary... it is also about the urgency of work.... there might be a number to be finished in an day... so it might also take upto 10 to 12 hours of work....

Hi All,
Its really an Interesting topic.I dont think so HR have to work only 9 to 6.There are few IT companies which are growing who are works more than the time like the technical persons do.
The peopel in recruitment normally work 10 to 11hrs also.
HR in Employee engagment and all they have to solve the queries any time when ever the technical persons approach the HR

Hi members,
HR team should be the motivating force for others, after all we are the custodians of discipline and happiness. Hence, working extra would mean a achieving more Employe's Satisfaction Level and also finishing our pending work if any.
