I am Jayaprakash N working as HR in Pvt Company and new to this area, I came across the case Like we fixed the Basic Rs. 7800 for all employees. Now I am facing the problem for freshers when I fixed the Gross salary as Rs.8700, the pre IT take home is less than the basic. It is ok... Please Advice me

There is no hard and fast rule that Take Home salary should be more than the Basic. But take home salary should be a minimum as prescribed under the Payment of wages, i.e. there is restriction to what extent the Deductions/recoveries from salary is permissible which is aimed at ensuring that employees should take home atleast that much of money to support their families.
