1. It depends on whether you are registered under Factories Act or under the Shops & Establishment (S&E) Act. In case of Factories Act, the uniform limit throughout the country for Annual leave with wages is 30 days (same as privilege leave) but the unavailed leave due to organisational exigencies get carried forward even if this limit is exceeded. The S&E Act is a local Act and the limit varies from state to state and accordingly you will have to find out.
2. There is no prescribed lower limit for the ceiling limit of accumulation of leave other than the aforesaid statutory provision.
3. It varies from company to company. Government companies have set a limit of 300 days.

DEAR SIR,
IN CONTINUATION TO YOUR RESPONSE PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE COVERED UNDER SHOP & ESTABLISHMENT ACT.
AS PER HR MANUAL OF THE COMPANY, ELIGIBILITY OF PL FOR AN EMPLOYEE DURING A YEAR IS 30 DAYS AND THAT CAN BE ACCUMULATED UP TO 180 DAYS. BEYOND 180 DAYS PL WILL BE ENCASHED / LAPSE. ENCASHMENT CAN BE MADE KEEPING 42 DAYS PL AS CLOSING BALANCE. BUT NOW WE WANT TO REDUCE THE MAXIMUM LIMIT TO SAY 90 DAYS. WHAT ARE THE STEPS TO BE TAKEN TO DO THAT?
