Its been a month since I joined a company as a marketing professional. I am a fresher in my field so I was asked to sign a one year bond with the company. As I recall I signed the employment agreement which contained a clause of some training cost incurred on me but it did not mention any specific duration for which I was liable to serve the company. But the HR of the company says that it included such clause that I am supposed to serve for at-least one year. Now because of this I want to have a copy my employment agreement for reference. Can I ask my employer for this without looking suspicious or weird? Are they legally obligated to give it to me? What is the best practice for asking for such copy?
P.S. - They haven't given me my appointment letter as well.

You can obvious ask for your employment letter copy at any part of the time. their is no harm in that as it is a mutual agreement signed by both the parties. Also going forward whenever you take any job, read the terms and condition carefully and take advice from an expert in case require before signing.
