I am an HR Manager of an NGO…
If employees take leave on Saturday and Monday (Working days) then Sunday (Non Working day or Weekend) would be treated as sandwich leave.
My Question is!!!!! Can The Organization have its own Leave Policy and delete SANDWICH LEAVE. i.e. Counting the leaves as they are taken by the employees without counting the sandwiched non working day.
Or is it mandatory to include Sandwich leave into the HR policy of the organization? Please comment…. Urgent

Hello Simon,
Your posting is a bit confusing.
Do you ACTUALLY have a Leave category called Sandwich Leave?
Usually most companies allow taking Casual Leaves for such occasions--where in-between public holidays or Sundays are clubbed with preceding OR succeeding CLs, so that the employee can avail a longer stretch of off-duty days. The in-between holidays are NOT counted into the CLs. But IF the employee has availed ALL his CL eligibility, then he/she may need to apply for other forms of Leave [PL/EL, etc], in which case, such leaves are also counted IN-TOTO, meaning even the intervening holidays also are deducted from his/her that particular Leave Balance.
Hope this answers your query.
