Dear All,
I am Training and Management Professional , Having work exp of more than 13 years, last year due to personal reason , i had to quit job , later due to medical conditions , i had to stay away from full time job for close to 18 months , however in this duration i was occupied , working as part time , now since i m back in active life , but seems too difficult to start over again.
Not only justifying gap is a tough task but also cold or no response from consultants is haunting me .
Any suggestion or tips is highly appreciated.
Regards,
Vijai

It depends for what kind of positions you are looking for? and if requirement is there in the market or not. When you get a call from HR or recruiters mention about the gap you had.
You have to wait and watch carefully for all kinds of opportunities and explore your self to reach them.
Go to consultancies and drop your resume and try calling companies check with them if they have any open positions.

Greetings of the Day,

Mr Vijai, as you have a really good experience and more senior to me, i can just share myself to you. You dont need to be worry about anything as you has yourself found the solution of your problem but the thing is that you are not getting it actually and lacking a confidence because of this gap that is bothering you these days.

See you said that this gap in your services/career occurred due to some medical problem, therefore , you can easily explain this to your new employer and recruiters. Gap can just bother the people who are new and just have started their career but 13+ experience is itself explain how much knowledge, experience and understanding of your work you have.

Could you please share more the difficulties you are facing to get back to your normal regular work life.

And if im not wrong, you haven't experienced any interview recent past days but are not feeling confident so are confused and worried. You are worried on how you explain this gap to your recruiters in their question and this concern is bothering you actually.

But i would say until you face any interview or give your confidence and valid reason of this gap of 18 months and get response of your recruiters you are not gonna actual confidence on yourself that you require here to give this new start to your work life.

I have expressed myself above that im not much experience like you have and at half of it but in my 6 years of experience and 4 years of member ship at this place and with numerous discussion on the same topic, my knowledge and understanding on this subject allow me to say that you just need to GO AND FACE INTERVIEW without hesitation and with your confident & valid reason of your gap.

Im sure you will discover many things from this and something that really help you in your life or new start.

Moreover, i wants to know more about the problems/difficulties that will help us all to give you more specific solutions of your problems

Last company i had worked with as Training Manager , I am not very fussy about the package or designation or brand for the sake, what is important for me to get engaged and that too where i could utilize my skills and potentials.

Hi Vijay,
Why not try and approach some training companies? There are some small set up as well where you can offer your services. You can tie up with some training groups on linkedin /yahoo groups. Infact We see so many opportunities here on citehr.
Though, getting started can be little difficult but if you approach right sources, you will shortly be rewarded. Don't approach corporates as of now. They will get into the documentation process which at times becomes difficult to explain.
And training is like cycling, you cannot forget both. A little brushing up and you are on.
