Hi, My PF applications has been processed by the concerend PF office and the cheque has been sent to my bank. The bank says it has not received the cheque while speedpost has confirmed the delivery of the same. My first question is that in such a situation, can the cheque/ payment instrument be mis-used? Secondly, how do I address this situation. Thanks & regards, Amit

The matter seems to be a subject which came out of purview of industrial relations. If the PF authorities have confirmed that they had sent the cheque and the Postal department also has proof of delivery, the cheque might have been misplaced at bank only. But the bank will not accept any responsibility. Inroder to trace the matter, you may have to move legally. Lodge an FIR with the police and let the police enquire the matter. As earlier stated, the matter does not relate to IR/PM. Regards, Madhu.T.K

Firstly, you may give intimation to PF Deptt to stop the payment against the cheque issued by them. Secondly, you may obtain a Statement of Accounts of your bank account from the bankers, to whom PF Deptt sent your cheques, showing non clearance of any payment against the cheques and submit the same to PF Deptt . The PF Deptt will definitely issue fresh cheaques in lieu of lost one, but it will be after completion of six months from the date of issue of first cheque. Regards, Sivadasan
