Hi
As per The Karnataka Indutrial Establishments (National Festival Holidays) Act , 1963 Section 3A the day on which polling is held is a paid holiday.
May 06 2008, Vijay Karnataka has carried a news clipping about holiday on poll day. Holiday has been declared as per Shops & Establishments Act also.
Please go through the attachments
With regards

It has been announced in the papers that BPO’s and IT companies can offer a two hour permission to the employees instead of a full day leave.
