Hello Ram,

This reply is in reference to Case of Sameer Mehta. In my opinion one can try to analyse the case with the help of Organizational Behaviour Modification or OB Mod, as it commonly referred to. Luthans and Kreitner(1985), the systematic reinforcement or strengthening of desirable behaviour of employees and non-reinforcement or punishment of unwanted behaviour exhibited by organizational members.

The application of OB Mod involves the following steps:

1.The identification of the critical behaviour patterns of the employee that lead to good job performance.

2.Recording of the baseline frequency of those particular behaviour patterns that are currently exhibited.

3.A functional analysis of the desired behaviour is then made. That is, the antecedents and consequences of the behaviour are analyzed.

4.An intervention strategy is then developed to increase the frequency of occurrence of the desired behaviour and decrease the undesired ones.(Reinforcers are to be determined are to be determined in this step).

5.Evidence of the results of the reinforcement strategies is examined to see if the strategy worked, and if some further fine tuning is needed

Hope now u can handle the 3 questions in the case for further assistance pls go thru the chapter Reinforcement and Motivation- Performance Relationship(By Uma Shekharan)

Padmaja :D
