"Restricted holiday along gazetted holiday can be combined as prefix with earned leave?" -
It means Restricted holiday is tha holiday which we can take apart from the gazetted holiday list. In other words we can if we have a list of ten gazetted holiday now we take one more holiday apart from that list.

There are various occassions for which, giving a holiday by the company is not mandatory / legally bounded, for example below are few holidays, which have their own importance/meaning but are not mandatory to be given by a company. These are called Restricted holiday.
Usually in addition to the holidays specified in the company concerned, an employee is entitled to avail any of the two holidays out of the listed restricted holidays during the year.

hello friends, Can i go for leave from 21.10.15 to 29.10.15 with counting of earned leave from 26.10.15 to 29.10.15 (04 days) counting. 21st is gazetted, 22nd is Restricted holiday, 23 and 24 th is gazetted and 25 is sunday.

What is a restricted holiday?
Restricted holidays are the holidays which an employee can avail from the list of Gazetted/restricted holidays. Further these are the holidays only for employee and not for the organization or government departments. Their offices do not close at that day
Example:
In India restricted holidays are provided to employees to accommodate the festival and cultural diversity of India. People of Punjab celebrate with gusto the lovely festival of Baishakhi but it is not celebrated all over the India but Punjabi folks are all over India celebrate,so this holiday is very important for them.Likewise Tamil people observe Pongal but every State does not,
So Pongal can be a RH,so that Tamil employees can celebrate.
In this way there arises a need to provide restricted holidays to employee of different cultural background to show the respect to our cultural pluralism. In this way government has satisfied the people of different religions.

One of our employee has applied for half pay leave for the period 31/07/2017
04/08/2017 and 7th august as RH. The employee is going abroad. 5th & 6th august is
weekend. 7th August is a restricted holiday on account of rakhi. Under this situation
RH being suffixed after the week end, can we ignore week end or should it be counted in
continuation to the period already applied i.e., half pay leave applied for the period
31/07/2017 - 04/08/2017 to be continued for 5th & 6th August. thereafter permit RH to
be suffixed.
