Hi,

Instead of posting questions like this just kick start the work in HR. Once you are exposed to practical situations automatically you will gain knowledge out of it. Just go through amendments took place in PF /ESI for awareness. That would be sufficient. Keep moving. All the best !

Hi,
HR is a long career, you need to select which segment to work. like recruitment for which you need to establish contacts with the types of corporates, else work on statutory like ESI,PF & PT or pay roll system else the company's legal aspects like attending Labour or other courts,or implementing Performance Management System or a generic HR which takes into account the PR aspect.Verifying the documents of the applicant as claimed in the resume or Background verification in coordination with the Police Department.

You analyze first what type of HR services you can provide, based on that you can work strategies.

Like Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing, customer service, Finance, HR too is an evolving subject. Every day new concepts, new rules, new regulations coming up. Much depends what was your break period like. There are sites like sightinplus where articles keep appearing. Downnload and read. What was your core areas of involvement prior to your break ? There are a lot of subkills in HR - In between Recruitment and Retirement or Hiring and Firing - Competency Mapping, HR Scorecard, Performance Management System, 360 degree feedback, Employee Engagement, Counselling, Industrial / Employee Relations..... HR Business Partner role, HR Data Analytics....... The list is pretty long.

Best wishes

Hi there! It's great that you're looking to brush up on your HR knowledge after a break. To get started, I recommend staying up to date on the latest industry trends and regulations. You can do this by reading HR publications and attending conferences. You can also take online courses or certification programs to refresh your knowledge. A great place to start is the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) website, which offers a wealth of resources and educational opportunities. Best of luck in your career journey!
