Why not? Why should the IT industry be given exemption from coverage of Labour laws. Don't they employ people? Doesn't there exist employee employer relationship? YES. Therefore, all labour laws are applicable to IT companies also and most of the IT techies are 'workers' as per Industrial Disputes Act though their salary may exceed lakhs. True, considering that these IT companies will have to work according to the working time of American and European countries, engagement of women at night is permitted and that permission is accorded by separate circulars of the government as part of IT policy. That does not mean that IT company employees are not employees or workmen and labour Acts are not applicable to them.

Dear SLG

In Karnataka outright exemption for labour law is not exist. However, Industrial Employment Standing Order is given exemption for IT/ITEs for certain period subject to certain conditions.

Otherwise all the labor laws are applicable and comply.

2. Find useful link on the Compliance of Labor Law Compliance Audit in YouTube. It may be useful to you.

The same can be modified with your state regulations. What is important is the Shops Act which is state specific.
