My organization's office time is 9 am to 6:30 PM. Sat and Sun are weekly off. 30 mins of lunch break
According to the above timing, we are working 9 .5 hrs. As per the Shops and establishment act, no workers should work more than nine hours on any day and forty-eight hours in any week.
Please advise if we need to change our policy to keep the working hours to 9 hours and continue with Sat and Sun off

9 hours in a day is compulsory because as per factory act lunch time (30 minutes) and tea time of two time which is 15 minutes is add in 8 hours in a day so your actual working hours is 8 hours so per factory act 9 hours are correct in a day because tea time and lunch time is a facility for you which are providing by your company

The existing system is absolutely OK. Total hours including Spread over is 9.5 hours. Half an hour is rest. Therefore, total working hour per day is 9 hrs. As Saturday and Sunday are off, total weekly hours is 45 hrs. There is no violation of any law.
