Hlo everyone,

Some of the workers in our factory have retired but we want to continue their service with ESI benefit. Is it mandatory to pay the Employer's ESI contribution share at the time of re-employment after retirement or the employee has to pay both the two contributions by himself?

If you are keeping in service an employee after the retirement age you are required to continue the coverage under ESI Scheme as it existed. The employer's contribution cannot be charged from the employee. It will be a violation of the ESI Act 1948. If it is charged from the employee then it will not be employer's contribution.
