Based on the limited information provided, you are calling us all to speculate on your chances of getting caught, having done something which is not excusable you want us to help you get 'All is well' feel. We refuse to play the game, sorry this forum is not meant for that.

Think about the consequences if the new company finds out about your dishonesty. What is your Plan B?

As our learned colleague above has stated, we are not in a position to help you.
If I understand your post correctly, you absconded. There may be very good reasons as to why you took that course of action. But, and there is always a but - you took that decision without recourse to the consequences. You needed to find another way out of your predicament at that time.
Now you are faced with a difficult situation. You either tell the truth, or you tell a lie. Only you can make that decision, we cannot do it for you. From where I sit, you do not have any other choices. The obvious answer is tell the truth, and plead mitigation. Do a good job of pleading your case and you might be successful, but you must also be prepared for a negative outcome. That means chalking it up to experience and moving on with rebuilding your life. Will it ruin your life? No. It will not be easy for quite some time, but you can rise above this if you really want to.
Actions have consequences. Write that on your bathroom mirror so you see it every day and you will work it out.

As it is clearly mentioned by members of HR Fraternity what you have done is no way excusable. Nowadays background verification is done without any exemptions. So it is better to inform the company about what you have done and it is advised to get the solution from the company itself.
