Dear All, Kindly help me to understand of minimum wages act.
1- It's applicable to only workers? or applicable to the private company employees also.
2- Basic + DA wages only consider as a minimum wage? Eg. Basic+DA minimum wages =9000
and if in salary breakup getting basic+DA=4000 and special allowance 8000=12000. Means CTC amount greater than Basic+DA minimum wages than how to prepare salary breakup? which is the correct one?
Your responses will help me to clear my doubts

Dear Member,
Once your establishment is enlisted in the list of schedule employments, the appropriate Govt. will notify the minimum rates of wages for employees as per the definition of the employee under Minimum Wages Act, 1948. As per the definition of the employee supervisors & managers are not covered under this definition & accordingly you will not find fixation of minimum rates of wages for such employees. We do not find the definition of worker under this Act. For fixation of minimum rates of wages of employees, you are to go through minimum rates of notification of the Govt.
