Hi Guys, One of my friend newly joined in partnership firm as HR which consists of 3 managing partners, the thing is those three member's expectations are different and they not giving free hand to take any decisions and completing works moreover in finance point they are holding each and every payment resulting pressure on HR and one of the partner is assigning HR works to accountant my friend feeling something asking me to suggest. I suggested to him that sit with management and clear those if the same thing repeat put papers. Am I right? Please suggest.

Dear member,

The business partners, before starting a business must demarcate their areas of responsibility. They must ensure that their jurisdiction does not overlap. Their actions and decisions must be in harmony with one another. Lack of coordination among themselves if any could impinge on their business. Against this backdrop, the discordance amongst the business partners could tear apart the juniors working under them. The pulls and pushes from the three different dictions could make the staff jittery.

Your suggestion to your friend to sit with the management and demarcate the areas of responsibility is ok but how far it will work remains to be seen. Nothing wrong if your friend puts in papers and looks for a new job. The danger of working under unprofessional persons is it makes one unprofessional too. That could be a hefty price to pay for!

Dear colleague,
Discord between partners is a given thing. To say anything about what partners should or should not do is pointless.
The adverse effect of their infighting on the business is obvious. As an HR, he should talk persuasively to the partners and bring it to their attention. If they are beyond repair, look for better alternative.

The famous quote-Too many cooks spoil the broth applies here.
Partners need top demarcate area of work and stick to it.
I am sure they will sooner than later realise their confused way of working.Remember partners are finally liable for losses they create and buck stops with them only.Employee at best will have to look for another job.
Best way here is to try and tell the partners to set up responsibilities and division of work in diplomatic manner and hope they idea jells with them
Do your best and if things do not improve-think of exit.

If the partners have dispute internally, it is always better for the employees not to be involved in the dispute.
However, if the dispute is affecting the work of the concerned employee (in this case, your friend), and they are not willing to resolve the problem, then it is better for him to find another job.
That is however, not easy in the current scenario where the jobs are scarce. So till then he has to find ways to manage.
If the other employees are asking about unpaid salary, for example, then he has no option but to give a truthful answer, which is that he is unable to help or give a definitive date because the partners concerned have not given him the approval.
