Whether he is a permanent employee or temporary employee, there is no question of retrenchment compensation arise. Since he is resigned his dues may be settled after adjusting one month notice period if he wants to be relieved immediately.
Please note that retrenchment is cessation of work by an employer under Industrial Disputes act where the compensation will be according to law which does not arise in this case.
