If your employees are asked to WFH, either you have to allow them avail holiday on the NFH day or if asked to work on that day too from home, pay double wages or grant alternative holiday for a day on any three days falling either before or after the date of holiday.
In respect of other employees, the NFH day automatically merges with the normal deemed working days with wages during the lock down.

HSunil,
Was deduction applied commonly on all absentees or a few were singled out??
Pl.Clarify how the absence from 1-5th is 'treated' as Absent, didn't you declare 'lockdown' during these days? Actually the Lockdown commenced on 24th Mar.20 and went on throughout April & till end of 1st week of May.20. In May '20 various firms adopted different dates & staff groups to resume work at office. Many firms resorted to 'work from home'. Deduction of wages during lockdown on the basis of 'no work' no pay' concept has been debated in many forums including in SC, though SC ruled no coercive action on employers in an interim order, the case yet to be finally concluded by the SC. That apart, depending on circumstances prevailing in your firm your query could be dealt with.
