Airhswarya,
The attached letter will be far more useful to you. It is issued by Chief Secretary, Government of Maharashtra on not deducting the salaries of the staff. The letter is self-explanatory.
Thanks,
Dinesh Divekar

All these notifications are advisory and if government issued an direction for the same, it is not prescribed under any law that government can direct private companies to pay salary without work.

The MHA has released order under the Disaster Management Act, 2005 directing employers not to layoff/terminate employees and pay the salary without any deductions during the lockdown period.

# Employers will have to pay their employees during the period of the lockdown. Since establishments will be working on reduced capacity, it is likely that many employees may have non productive days. Employers will have to pay these employees as they are not able to work because of the government lockdown.
