Dear All, This year 2020 , 3 of the national holidays are on Saturday or Sunday in Karnataka. Employees are asking us to compensate those 3 national holidays by giving any other 3 festival holidays. Is it ok according to law to compensate those National holidays with festival Holidays. please suggest

Falling of national or festival holidays on weekly holidays is a natural coincidence. Legally speaking, such days need not be compensated construing such a phenomenon as a loss to the employees. Grant of compensatory holidays in equal proportion can be considered as a gesture of goodwill.
