Dear All, Please guide regarding the policy that should be framed and followed during Notice period? My company has three Leaves - SL, CL and PL. Regards, Nagarajan Sekar 9940339770

An employee can take annual leave during a notice period if the employer agrees to the leave. However, the employee can only take personal or sick leave during a notice period if they give:
Notice of the leave as soon as possible
evidence if the employer asks for it (eg medical certificate)
An employer cannot force an employee to take leave as part of the notice period.

Dear Colleague,
The provision of notice period has practical purpose. One, to get sufficient time to find replacement and two to finish all important tasks at hand . Keeping this purpose in mind, policy of any leave during the notice period should be directed towards discouraging taking any leave except in exceptional circumstances beyond the control of the employee. That too no longer period of leave be made permissible.
During notice period , the employee must continue to give uninterrupted performance by attending office/work for full notice period and policy should discourage absence.
