Hi, I'm working as a Software Engineer in a MNC. I've 2 years of experience in .NET domain but due to my interest in ERP I've recently completed SAP ABAP certification. I want to switch to SAP domain, my current company does not have SAP projects so I'm looking outside. As I don't have SAP experience I'm getting considered as fresher only and the companies are asking me to join in max to max 45 days.
I've talked about this scenario with my manager and since I don't have much dependency asked him to leave me early but he is not ready to leave me without completing my notice period of 90 days. He said he'll decline Notice period buy out option as well. Due to this 90 days criteria SAP domain companies are rejecting me. Kindly help me a way so that either I can convince my Manager/HR Or the SAP domain companies.

Dear Aishwarya,
If you are getting job offers now, then you will get these after 3 months also. Therefore, will it not be appropriate to complete notice period and have smooth exit?
Relevance of the current job with that of future job apart, it is important for you to have unblemished relieving letter. Therefore, prudence demands to be pliable and show patience. Any kind of impetuousness might create negative impact on the career itself. Please note this point.
Thanks,

Glad for the immediate response !!I've not resigned yet as I'm trying to find out any option so that I can reduce my notice period as much as I can. I'm worried because there are very few jobs in market for SAP fresher (1:20 ratio), The training institute through which I've done the course is offering us placements but as I'm fresher in SAP domain companies are not ready to wait for me more than a month and I'm losing job opportunities due to this notice period issue. Kindly suggest some way.

Maybe it will be an option if you can talk to the HR and also your reporting manager so that you find an amicable way out of this. One other option will be to resign and take the risk of getting the SAP job as fresher at the earliest before you lose out time in brooding over the situation. End of the day, even if HR agrees the reporting manager may or may not be willing to let go. Unless you communicate in clear terms, it may not be possible to get a clarity in the issue and for your future.
Thanks and Regards
