Hi,
No one can hold original documents of candidates, this is illegal. Also you should find other mode to retain employees not only for 2 years, for many years. Implement few employee engagement planes or scheme like annual bonus, employee holiday leaves etc.

Dear Friend,
It is really strange to see such query. Any company holding original certificates is doing illegal & immoral act which is against the normal norms of HR. now a days some companies are doing this immoral act in order to coerce & blackmail the employees to stay put if he has decided to quit. There is no other motive behind this action. They want to use it as retention tool.
Most of the companies accept photo copies of the original certificates they verify with the originals and return the originals.
This query reflects on the psyche of the leadership of the Company. Definitely it is a perverted thought.
Please do not do this as it ill cause ultimate damage to the company.
Warm Regards
