Can you please let me know the leave law applicable for a company which is:
- Registered as Pvt Ltd company
- Operating in Mumbai (Bandra) as head office with 12 employees, and have a warehouse at Vasai with 3 employees
- Has a Gumasta license; registered under Shop and Establishment act of BMC
Our company is having a total of 31 leaves for employees, not separated as CL and PL, is that acceptable? Earlier it was 10-CL and 21-PL, but now clubbed together as "Leave".
Also, is it ok if the leaves are lapsed by the end of year if not taken?

Your leave rules are governed by Shop and Establishment Act. It is very clear on leave procedure and maintenance of leave registers to be maintained ,

Hey Rahul,
Your organisation come under Maharashtra Shops and Commercial Establishment Rules and hence follow the leave rules mentioned.
Also it is important to create a leave policy - rules + basic practices like lapse, encashment, whether allow to adjust with notice period etc. and circulate among employees.
