Hello All,
Could someone tell me what the normal percentage hike an
individual is entitled to within an organisation during appraisals?
Is it b/w 15-20% of their gross salary, or am I wrong?
Thanks,
Priscilla

It depends on company norms. Generally in any appraisal salary revision depends upon his/her contribution and value addition to the compnay.
In our company salary hike ranges from 5% to 50%.

hi,
it differs from comp to comp..n depends on the employee's performance.
some companies may ve minimum/gauranteed hike of 10% irrespective of employee's performance.
n maximum hike as per company's policy can b as high as 30% . n for very rare exeptional cases, it will more than 50% ..but this is vv v rare.
the hike is usually given on CTC n not just gross....again, this too can be different from comp to comp

Hi
I would like to put my thught on the same.
The hike is clearly based on company norms. This depends on two factors:
1. Performance
2. Market Correction
Now the percentage of hike is decided on these two factors and normally it varies from 5 - 40% average being 20% normally. People who are fairly new to the orgainzation and eligible for hike get the token hike wheras the critical resources and good performance get the maximum hikes.
Hope this is helpful.......
Cheers

Hi Priscilla, On a average basis if we see it is 30%. rest depends upon the performance. Some companies even give 100% hike also. Deepali

Hi to All,
Yes I totally agree with Mallet and my fellow HR colleagues that salary hike is based on the organisation's performance in addition to individual's performance, on the surplus budget allocation depending upon sales forecast and compensation trends in a particular industry.
Hikes vary from company to company.
Thanks

Dear Prescilla
Greetings.
It differs from company to company. also hike in salary based on the performance of the following criterias
1. Financial wealth of the company, profit in the previous year, future plans, budgets
2. Individual performance: Achieving of targets, Willing to take responsibility, cost conscious, meeting of organisation goals, Discipline, behaviour also plays a role
3. Group performance: You may be a part of a team in different department for eg. sales people have different plans of hike based on their weekly / monthly / yearly performances.
Hence it may vary from 5% to 40% in terms of money. But position hike like Promotions, rationalisation of grades varies from company to company.
Cheers
