Hi All, I need guidance based on below incident.
Everyday I work form 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM regular shift. On Monday, I have been forced to do extended shift.
I had done all the work assigned to before leaving for home. because I others are continuing to work I have been asked to extend the shift till 9:30 PM.
Before taking this role, I have explained the Site Leader, Sr. Manager and Team Leader that I have at 6:00 PM everyday as I have to reach home to take care of my daughter who is 5 years old. However, they forced me to stay back. The other 4 people from the team who usually comes at 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM time daily they were continuing the work. Out of these 4, 3 are diversity candidates and 1 is male candidate.
Even though I explained them the situation I have been forced to stay and continue my work. I am observing this from last 1.5 year, that diversity candidates are not at all been pointed for any issues or escalations. Whereas male candidates always faced the shouting and blaming.
Because these 4 peoples are coming late to office I have been forced to extend the work.
I am really worried how I can sort this out. Whether I can escalate to Sr. Leadership?
I am really not sure if I can reach to HR as HR closely works with the leadership?

Dear Ajinkya,
What is your designation? What is the nature of your industry? During your extended working hours, do you deal with offshore customers?
On one of the workdays, you are forced to stay in office up to 9:30 PM and this has been going on for 1.5 years. Now you wanted to escalate the matter. However, the question arises is why your extended working hours on one of the days, have been escaped from the attention of the Managers? What kind of this managership is?
Now about diversity candidate. What do you mean by "diversity candidate"? A person has a stature of candidate at the time of recruitment. However, once that person gets selected and physically joins an organisation, he/she becomes "employee". Therefore, please clarify on the term "diversity candidate". Have you referred "woman employee" or "expatriate" as "diversity candidate"?
You may put up, proper application to your seniors. If you wish, you may upload the draft of your application on this forum. Some senior will correct it.
General comments: - Any organisation must follow principality of equality. Less work by few employees cannot be countervailed by overwork by some other employee. One of the persons is working extra and senior management keeps quiet and even HR also keeps quiet. With this imbalances in the working methods, can HR engage the employees?
Thanks,
Dinesh Divekar

You can put a word with your senior or HR and if the same persists you can formal send and e-mail and sort out the issue in a genuine way.
