Dear All,
please clarify and suggest if there is reduction in employers and employee contribution towards ESIC. I have read in some article as below:
in newly implemented areas ESIC has decided to reduce employer contribution from 4.75% to 3%, & that of employees from 1.75% to 1%; will be valid for 24 months effective October 2016".

The Zones newly covered by ESIC have got some features, but ESIC is sending intimations to every employment a separate letter of confirmation for applicable contribution rates, most of the establishments are FRESH registrants, as the area was not covered under ESIC in past.
ESIC contribution is not calculated by Employer at the time of filing monthly return.
the specified codes and zones will auto calculate the applicable ESIC contribution, and would reduce the same if applicable on specified zones.

Sir, please see under mentioned thread and discussion therein:

I hope, firstly you may examine as to from which date the area where your unit is located was declared as implemented under section 1(3) of ESI Act, 1948 and this information can be obtained from the nearest office/Branch Office of ESIC. Thereafter you may examine and decide the issue whether the area falls in the category as mentioned in the new rule.
