I want to know what is Minimum wages payble to the worker in Diamond Industry in Gujrat & in Maharshtra.

What can a employee do, if he or she is not getting the minimum wages ? can u help me out ... Regards, Rohit

Dear Rohit,
If the worker is not getting the minimum wages then he may approach to the Govt. Labour Officer/ Asst. Labour Commissioner. On his approach the GLO/ALC may make an enquiry, if during the enquiry, it is found that the employer is not paying minimum wages to the worker then they will issue Show-cause notice to the employer as why action should not be taken against them.
However it alway advisable to pay atleast Minimum wages to the workers.
