Any company registered under the shops act or with factory we have to maintain the wage register. You have to maintain the wage registers in hard copy or you can take written permission to maintain the same in soft copies from the concerned department/officer

The law requires that you maintain wage registers.
There is no definition of the term. So we need to go by the normal understanding, which means it should be in a hard bound register, from which pages can not be removed or tampered with.
One option then is to paste the printouts into the hard register.
Other option is to bind the printouts every month into a register.
A third option as Jeevarathanam said, is to get an approval to maintain records in a soft copy.
The rules are same irrespective of whether you have 20 or 100 or 1000 workers.

Hi Radha,
You can maintain soft copy of the registers as per prescribed format , which allows you to use formulas for calculation (wages OT etc) and take print out and get it seal and signed form your respective HOD's or HR.

The formats of the register depend on the state and industry.
Check the shop and establishment act, factory rules, payment of wages rules and minimum wages rules of your state, depending on what applies to you. The format will be available in these rules
