Hi
What does your leave policy states? do you have any policy implemented? If not it is better to implement ASAP.
Irrespective of any grade & salary offered, any employee works on week ends or on declared holidays then it is compulsory to compensate that day with another working day

It is not necessary to give weekly off on Sunday only, you can give any one day during a week as weekly off. In most of the construction company the workers are given compensatory leave on any other day instead of any holidays appearing. We are into hotels and it is not practical for us to grant holiday to all the staffs since it is a service industry and works 24x7 so we offer another day to few of the employees as holiday who works on Public Holidays, and those employees who are not required during Public holidays like HR, Admin, Accounts are granted to take Public Holidays.

As I knowc general practice in construction Industry every site employee who is deputed there is getting 60 Days paid leave in a year I.e. 10 months plus 2 months leave. Besides, leave for sickness at site of 10 days is also provided..... Rajaish.
