no need to fuss about this. you wait for a week`s time, if he not joined, you send a letter mentioning his offer letter stands cancelled

In fact you don’t need to wait for a week Just issue a letter cancelling the offer. Send by registered mail or courtier POD.

Simple letter to person saying that:
You were offered the position of------- vide our letter reference-------- dated ------.
The offer stands withdrawn in toto due to non reporting for work from ------ onwards.
This is for your information.
No need to appreciate his so called skill and accomplishments when the employee shows least concern by becoming absent from 2nd day itself and remaining out of touch.
An employee is expected to show diligence and some amount of loyalty to his employer and work.

Hi,
If your organisation has a rehire policy then there is no point in sending cancelled letter. And wherever he/she comes for rejoining, management can at that time take a call on his/her hiring.
Generating employee id is all ok, nothing to fuss about it. Let it lie in the system stating "Not Active"
Hope this suffice & help full :)

"""If your organisation has a rehire policy then there is no point in sending cancelled letter. ""
Organisations do have rehire policies.
But I am sure no company will rehire some who has absconded on 2nd day itself.

I agree, if an employee would have stayed back for quite some time in the system, but in just 2 days, anyone cannot judge a persons exit, so at that point in time, whenever he/she comes back, management can decide whether to hire or not.

Mr. Pereira,,
Please wait at least f0r 10 days time. Un case he did not turn up for duty you may issue the letter ad advised by our learned members. It is not justified to come to the conclusion absonding within 2 days. If anything theft or loss you report to the police concerned area.

It is too early to come to the conclusion of absconding within 2 days of joining unless any evidence. Adoni Suguresh Laboour \laws Consultant
