Let me know how to handle the situation. why he is not sharing the details about business. where i am lacking. what are all the steps to be taken to sort out the issue.

How long you are working there?

If you are new and he is not sharing anything to you, intention might be for you to observe the things like working atmosphere first. Meet your colleagues at break time, discuss with them and gather the history of the company and its policies. Communication is more important for a HR position. If you could communicate properly, it will be easy to make your supervisor to share the things to you.

If you are working long time and still he is not sharing details, issue might be with him. He might be feeling unsecured. In this situation, It will be little bit difficult. But you should not loose hope. You should find an appropriate time to press him to share things to you, like when he wants to go on leave or permission. You have to ask everything and need to proceed further from there.

This situation is normal in all departments. But its a fresher or a new employee potential on how he could overcome this situation.

Wait for your time and don't loose your hope. Be positive always.

Thanks.

I do agree with the points mentioned by Mr. Stephen. If you want to develop your communication skill, read newspapers, books etc., try to talk in English with friends and colleagues All the best.

As it said above by Mr. Jawahar, You can gain communication skills by reading political news and some case files, where you can find how they are communicating and defending their ideas and overcoming the opposition strategies. Read out analyst column, where they write everything in single page using proper words, even a lame also can understand the big secrets. You dont need to read English news papers only for that. You can also read your regional news papers. and watch debates in news channel.
Communication is not only need to be in English language. It can also be in your local language. Proper communication is nothing but a content with wise words. It is how you are able to use proper words to convince your superior and other employees.
All the best.

dear deepasatish

i don't see this as a communication skill problem . it appears to be an inter personal relation issue. it may be the superior has not been able to judge your abilities rightly or he / she has a fear of you replacing him/her at some time. or you are wanting to out race him too early .

in addition your question is why the superior is not sharing ?

before that can you spell out what all are your contribution to support the superior in his/ hr achieving the goal or accomplishing the task of the day. have you established the right frequency and gained his/her confidence . have you taken over part of the superior 's work load and relieved him/her for major planning and implementation tasks

if you want to be a member of his team

1. prove your professional worth.

2. give unflinching support

3. do the donkey's work and carry part of his load

4. do not expect anything from the superior but earn it by hard work and sincerity.

5. play the game as per his /her game plan and not become a hindrance to his/ her thinking and vision [ even if you are smarter than him]

6. respect his authority and position sincerely and show willingness to learn from him/her

7. do overtime to reduce his / her work load

8. remove yellow glasses and approach him/ her as the captain and respect that he/she has reached the position of a supervisor through hard work and perseverance

9. maintain cordiality .

Dear sirs,
Thanks for the reply. He is my first guru for this profession. I am ready to support my superior to share his workload. Unless he assign, how can i prove my professional worth. He will available in office weekly twice or thrice. If he came also, always preoccupied and busy with some schedules. I didnt get not even five minutes to discuss. if i convey any message, he wont concentrate much on that. I want to learn more from him. I used to talk to my employees freely. he is scared whether i will confidentiality or not. To be a HR professional, is the quality of crookedness is required. Kindly help me out gain confidence of my superior and how to develop interpersonal skills.
Regards,
Deepasatish
