Dear friends,
Refer the following news:
Pay techie Rs 12.5 lakh for sacking her, Karnataka labour department orders US-based firm
The news explodes the myth about:
a) Employee unfriendliness that prevails in the IT companies
b) Pusillanimity of HR, their inability to foster culture of justice in the organisation
c) Jargon like "Employee Engagement" which is very close to the heart of HR of hi-fi MNCs
Will HR take moral responsibility for the episode? Will the action be taken against the manager who had harassed junior techie?

Dear divakar ..is there anyway I can get hold of this decision.....of the IT department.....more than compensation for retrenchment, the harassment angle is what I am interested in....if she has indeed been compensated for harassment it would be a landmark decision
Hello Dinesh,
In my views HR is the most critical part of the organization which has to play a justified role to all employees, Manager's as well employees. Nowhere the organization has spurious policies but HR have to take it appropriately, to be fair with every employee and support the genuine employee that will nurture the great culture of the company.
So taking the responsibility and doing the right thing is the action which everyone looking for.
