Hi Shreyas As per professional tax act you should deduct the tax pertaining to particular state and remit the same at the respective state only.

Hi Shreyas,
Profession Tax comes under Corporation / Municipal authority control, hence it should be remitted to the respective corporations, wherever you have branch office set-up.
In case, you are looking for any professional support, in terms of Profession Tax Registration / Profession Tax remittance, please write to us.

Hi
Pragnaa HR Compliance Services - PAN India & Jeevarathnam,
Thanks for your valid suggestion, but my doubt is wat if the salary is being processed and paid from the Corporate . The Salary accounts are also maintained at a perticular bank by the corporate only. But the individuals will be working at different braches.
Regards
Shreyas

Hi Shreyas,
That is ok, you can process the employees' salary centralized in Corporate office and paid to them.
Please be noted that the Profession Tax should be paid to the local corporation, where you have branch office set-up.

Hi Shreyas,
First of all your establishment should be registered under Professional Tax Act with Commercial Tax Officer wherever your branch is located by furnishing all the details and then they will give you a Certificate. For PT deduction is based on the salary structure depends upon the state and see that any employee is falling within the limits then deduct the PT from his salary and arrange to remit the same to local LVO /VAT dept. If the centralized payroll is maintained does not matter and parallel maintain the Wage register also in respect of your branches which will facilitate in all angles including labour laws. By mere reasons of centrlized paysheet, you cannot escape from the payment of Professional Tax. Failing which you may suffer later on. The procedure of remittance is clearly explained by contributing member to this thread.
