I have 2 years of experience in an MNC as a HR. I resigned my job and took a break for 1 year due to personal reasons and now I am finding it difficult to get a good job. I have been offered a HR Executive job in a small software company of less than 100 employees. But It has NO HRMS, no automation at all. Everything is still paperwork and manual processing. I am not sure if there are other firms like this and if it would be wise to work here. Please give me ur honest opinion.

Dear Anon,
Just because an organisation adopts primitive or mechanical processes, it would be too early to conclude that it is not a good place to work for. May be they have a reason. The virtues of an organisation lie in its objectives and the vision which its CEO, Management, Director or the Founder has for it. So, I suggest you do a research about the organisation before making up your mind. Also, try to put your word forward about adopting enhanced ways of HRMS before the management.

The size of the organisation does not matter. The absence of HR policies also does not matter. The lack of sophistication too does not matter. The amount of compensation does also not matter going by the fact that you too are inclined to revive your career. If the organisation has good culture and amiable environment, you can transform yourself into a change agent by grabbing the opportunity to show initiative in formulating SOPs and introducing policies that help turning it into a work place which every employee is eager to go tomorrow after leaving it for home in the evening to day. It is only you that can take a call.

Hello,
I would support what Saiconsult has expressed. It will be a good opportunity for you to prove yourself by streamlining HR practices in such organisation. Have a check on company's financial stability and working atmosphere. Give it a thought that you want to revitalise your career and take a decision.
All the best!

Hi,
I think company size doesn\'t matter for HRMS because I already worked with a company of 1800 employees but there were no any HRMS,I used excell for salary making and other processes.
According to my experience and opinion , I would like to suggest you to join that company because this one year gap will increase with time and will be difficult to find any type of job in HR.
Good Luck for your future !!!!

Saiconsult has given a good advice. It may be an initiative by you to introduce HR automation. But you should settle down first & convince the management that you can provide value addition through such initiatives. How can the company benefit financially and also in terms of the quality of HR services. If you visit 'EmpXtrack' website, there is ample material to support such initiatives.
