Hi,
I have received a job offer regarding teaching job in Malaysia for 2 years contract. I would like to join software development job after 6 months. After 5 months I have a plan to join in Software development company in Malaysia. Can I cancel the current contract job(teaching job for 2 years) after 6 months in Malaysia. Please show me the right direction.
Thanks a lot.

Dear Muruhan,
Is the teaching job a way of getting into Malaysia? Ask your conscience whether what you are considering is ethically right? That is, fully knowing that you do not want to continue in the teaching post, is it right to take up the job and then quit? How would you feel if the school were to terminate you after 6 months?
It all depends upon how the contract is worded.

Hi KMuruhan,
Yes, you can terminate your contract with 6 weeks notice period as per Malayasian Labor Act. Please check the "Termination Clause" carefully before signing the contract. Teaching is a different profile than commercial organisation and its very sensitive.
I know many try get whatever, they get to come aboard but I would ask you to choose the right industry and field before you jump. Wish you all the best.
Having said that Malaysia is a great country to work.

Hi Kmuruhan,
It is unethical for you to leave the college or university after they gave you 2 year contract.
Actually, it is not about the college but it\'s your responsibility to complete the cycle/semester so that the students have the right momento to study. Changing the lecturer/teacher during the semester is very painful for the college and the students.
My advise to you to complete at least one year academic cycle before you leave the college/university.
Please think carefully before making the decision.
Be a responsible person so that people will respect you.
