Dear Seniors,

I request you to advice me on the below mention query.

I m working in a small IT company, with the strength of nearly 50 People. Its not a private limited company but a Sole Proprietorship. I m working as an HR, so in formulation of policies my contribution remains 40 % but the ultimate decision remains with our Management...

Now, my query is regarding change in the leave policy at the end of the year. The employees were given Employee handbook in the beginning of the year, which contains leave provision that their PL will be carried forward up to two years (at that time I was not working in the company ), now I m being told to change it, that PL will be carried forward only up to 50% of the total balance of PL and that to maximum of 3. if anyone has more than that in balance, it will be lapsed. which was proved very negative, and Personally I feel, its a cheating with the employee. May be I m wrong but I requested management not to implement it from this year as its wrong time for changing it, We have already committed them. But they aren't taking any action & people are everyday complaining me, I m trying to convince them and explain them somehow but I need your Advice that weather I should support the employees and go to management? or I should remain silent and give diplomatic answers to the employees ??? if I don't support I m afraid there are chances of negativity among the employees.

Please reply.

Thanks

If you support the employees, the owner will replace you immediately, please convince your owner that you have to provide leave according to the Act, which is statutory requirement and one has to follow the rules laid down by the said Act.
