Dear Members,
I am working as Admin, HR & IT Manager in a reputed school in Kolkata. Before my joining school service rule was in force with 14 days CL, 15 days ML following all statutory norms including ESI for all confirm teacher and non teaching staff. As a HR person for the last two years, i tried my best to maintain the HR system in an ethical manner. However a newly joined COO is dissatisfied to carry on 15 days medical leave and ESI whoever is eligible together. But my point is that, would it be a fair idea to discontinue a prevailing system. Please share your opinion in this regard.

An insured person under ESI is eligible to get the relevant benefits as provided in the scheme. Then, what is the need of ML?ML is all right for persons not eligible under ESI.

From the date of commencement of first benefit period of the employee in ESI you can convert 15 days ML in to half pay ML..Read regulation 97. Varghese Mathew 9961266966
