Dear All....
We have around 50 associates working in a Big Project ( To the clients). Recently ( 31st Aug) they have withdrawn that project from our company because of XYZ reasons..
We have other projects, we moved our 20 associates to other projects depends on their interest... we have tied up with some other companies, yet to finalize and we are going to get a project within 3 weeks. (
Question is - what to do with 30 associates for 3 weeks, need some suggestions from all seniors to make use of human resources properly till we get the new project. or suggest me to conduct some activities in the floor, where they can develop themselves and it will be helpful for companies growth as well...
Thanks in advance....

Since it is only three weeks by which time you can redploy the 30 assoiates, it is not wise to lay them off for 30 dyas as it will be difficult for the company to recruit again 30 associates.probably the cost of recruiting them may outwiegh the cost of retaining. I have few suggestions
1) Since you must be knowing the nature of project on which they can be deployed in six weeks time, you can conduct a training programme inducting them to the business goals of the new project and honing their existing skills to suit the new project , or
2) Utilise their sevcies for generating ideas on new products or servcies, or
3) Employ them for Business Development activities etc.

It would be a good time for the 30 associates not moved to other projects to upgrade their knowledge, attend seminars (online and offline).
In addition, the supervisors can test their knowledge by giving projects inhouse to do, either on R&D type of work or on sample / test projects.
You can also encourage them to utilise their accumulated leave as they are unlikely to get leave once the new projects start

Thanks for your suggestions...
@ Sai consult- The project we are getting is more or less similar... & though they have an experience, 3-4 days is enough to train them very easily.
And for business development activities good communication skills are needed, they are not so good in communication ( And .all areproud that they have a good communication skills)
@ Saswatabanerjee- out of 30 around 23 associates we hired on contract basis, they are not eligible to take leaves (means LOP) till they get confirmation from our company.( its from 3-6 months depends on their performanve @ work)
Thanks
