Hello Seniors,
Ours office is shifting to new location in Chandigarh itself, as this is small scale org. of around 100 employees, I would like to know what kind of activity being HR I can run, So that employee feel good and new about it.

Dear Megha, At a client location about 6 months back a similar thing happened. Here's a few things that were done.
- List of important/needy places around the new office was identified... fire station / police station / eating joints/ hospital/ theatres etc..
- While still at old office, staff was sent weekly information about the new office developments
- Guidelines were shared on things to do before last day of old office
- A week before shifting staff were giving individual boxes for putting their stuff
- Each one was giving stickers to put on their machine hardware (keyboard/mouse/cpu.. etc). those having laptops to carry them home.. will save packing & moving charges
- At the new office each one was allocated place .. having name tags on each desk.. allowing them to know where they are seated. new office layout map can be shared informing who is going to sit where.
- A poja was organized at new office
- The office address on google maps can be shared
- First day at new office will be chaos... things will not be functioning smoothly..IT connectivity... toilet water.. swipe card.. etc.. its best to make staff aware about this before hand.
- All you email signatures / visiting cards / Banks / courier company.. everyone external to the organization to be informed on office change address. This can begin immediately ..saying 'begining july 01.. our new office address will be..
- Anticipate attrition... those finding the new office commute difficult ... may resign in a few months & Start tapping local talent around the new office area
Best wishes
