A shift from recruitment to an out and out Core HR is tough, though not impossible since a lot depends up on how you fare in the interview to meet their expectations and even then you , in all probability will be treated as fresher. You need to be ready for this situation. Some suggestions in this regard to you are :
1) Try for a profile which is a mix of recruitment and HR actvities as the chances of your being selected for such roles is easier than for core HR roles.
2) After joining a job, take initiative to learn as much as possible about core HR with the help of professionals there.
3) In the mean time , brush up your conceptual undertsnding of HR functions like perfrmance mangement, competency mapping, O.D activities and read important labour laws(Bare Acts) liek I.D Act, P.F, ESI, Gatauity, Standing Orders Act and see how these Acts are impelimented in your organisation.
4) if possible acquire some short term certification in practical HR as I do not discount any knowledge.
5) Spend some time in such role
6)Structure your CV to rflect the newly caquired skills
7) and then try for core HR.
It is said strong people have 'will ' and others have only wishes. So do not merely wish but will it to get it.
All the best.
