Hello to all,
I am associate trainee with HR outsourcing firm which is hyderabad based along with pursuing MBA in HR ..My stipend and work place is 6500 and delhi respsctively..I am on six months probation period.
My questions is that whether it is right what I am getting or not because according to delhi minimum wage i think it isn't right . Don't you think?
Should I ask my company directly why I am getting less than delhi minimum wage.
I would be feel highly obliged if you could suggest me that how can I deal with this situation?
Regards and thanks in advance

Dear Vijay,
First of all congratulation for getting your first work exposure.I am also appreciating the insightful points that you had raised.
A per the provision of the Apprentice Act,1961 since you are yet to awarded with the degree of MBA and in case you dont have any previuos diploma on HR,you can not be considered as an "Apprentice Trainee" neither you can be paid "stipend" in lieu of salary. Also to check that whether if your employer is registered under regional board of practical training. In case they are not, your organization can not designate you as a "Trainee" and all the statutory like MW,PF,ESIC etc has to be complied with.
Now,please have a look on your offer letter to see whether if it states that your engagement with the establishment is as a project trainee as a part of your academics.sometimes, such type of engagements are not complied with the statutory, tough the enactments have no restrictions in covering cases like yours with the lawful dues of an employment.
secondly, deal with your seniors in this case softly and rather bursting out with claims try to get the dues with consolidated arguments that should rich in content.

I picked it up during the early stages of my profession. "When you are young work to learn not to earn."
The technical details have been covered by my friend above, I'm just covering the intellectual aspect.
Money is just a by-product and it is going to come eventually, right now what you should be focused on is enriching experience from your first hand exposure.
In fact, I would like you to discuss with your college seniors from the early batches, you'll be amazed by the number of them who were never paid for their internships because, the market conditions were such that companies found it costly to even have free interns.
P.S.: 1. The details you've mentioned are not conclusive, i.e. Your nature or work, or the profile, or JD.
2. I've considered your financial support as stable.

Mr.Saurabh' comments are very much true and apt to the current scenario...
When I joined with my first org during 2002, worked 6 months without pay.
Hence according to the current trend get as much as exp. it leads to get good job with higher pay..
