Hi, Greetings to all!.
Please note I rejoined an organisation after a gap of 3 years. It was supposed to be a 4 member team out of which 3 boys were friends of the Team Leader. I was recruited from outside. But from the time I joined, the 3 boys were very uncoperative, never gave any training and did not consider me to be a part of the team as well. Though took the initiative to break the ice and asked them what is the problem and why they are behaving like this with me. But there was no major changes in their behavior. After a considerable amount of months due to my self hardwork, my performance was appreciated by the management which started troubling one boy from this gang of 3 and he started bad mouthing me in front of the other fellow colleagues. It was just getting from bad to worst. Did complain to my main manager regarding this fellow's behaviour but in vain. Now that since I have resigned the organisation. His bad mouthing has still not stopped.
And the second unfortunate thing is, even in todays world wherein we consider girls to be at par with men, this boy just does not allow any single girl to work in the team. In the past one year 4 members (all girls) have resigned from the team and all due to their gundaism which they follow blindly since there is no one to take action against them.
My query is can we girls get together and take action but now that we are not a part of the organisation.
Also is there any rule which can stop such stupid behaviour which can be avoided in an organisation.
That boy is still roaming around in the organisation without performing nicely and being a threat to all the girls in the team. He just wants to come and do dada giri and is happy when people are scared of him. The funniest part is they i.e the TL and these three friends (all boys) have warned the team that the team is not supposed to talk to any of us, and if that is done they will see them outside nicely. Isnt it funny they want to take control of the team like a reputed gunda.. Isnt this wrong. He has completed six years in the organisation but is frustrated because he is not getting a chance to grow. But will he ever grow with this behaviour and attitude of his?????
Please assist and advise how can we help in treating this boy who is an absolute nuisance to the organisation. Shouldnt the HR or the manager take action against this boy???

Dear Ms. Anitha Kale,
Have you reported this issue to your manager in writing or by any email? Reporting to the Manager is the first step and if you haven't got any reply then reporting to the police is the good part (employer should be informed in this regards). Which you should have taken while you were being harassed. You should alo make sure that evidence is not required from your end coz its only that you have to report and re-report any act of harassment.
Obviously, late reporting is seen as mis-use of law and in your case its too late and doing anything now wont really yield any much favors to you. Now you have the added burden of giving proofs and also proving your mental state for reporting late. You can take this as a lesson but all you can do is, you may help the remaining females working under that team may benefit. "WOMEN" donot choke-a-chicken out on such occurance.
Have you got any reply from your manager after complaining? If NO, then you must ascertain it could have been loosely assessed. You may suggest the rest of female employees (if working) to take courage and draft a legal sort of email to the manager take up the matter.

Such fellows will ever grow and they are ostensibly danger to the organization and to the employees around him as well. I advise that every organization should have a panel such as POSH (prevention of sexual harassment) so that the employees who ever face such kind of problems and difficulties may report to POSH committee so that this committee will take action post concrete investigation is done. In the first place you will have to report such incident to your manager and then the POSH committee if existed. If manger is not responding to this complaint then pls follow a hierarchy.
The same thing (similar case but not exactly as this case) happened to me I reported all the problems to POSH committee. They commenced investigation of my case and arrive at a position to throw my team leader, but on humanity grounds they did give him an opportunity. Also, they have issued internal memo to my manager as he was trying to defend the TL.
Such kind of goons should not exist in the organization at all.

Dear Anitha,
What matters is evidence. Do you have sufficient evidence of his bad mouthing or bad behaviour? If not then find out what you can do to generate the evidence.
Once evidence at hand, approach your HR manager to take action against this person. If nothing happens then approach the occupier of your company (MD or Director) and give your submission with material evidence.
If occupier also does nothing then send a legal notice to him for failing to stop the harassment at work. If still he does not respond then file a suit against him.
Another thing you can do is to film his behaviour secretly and put it on Youtube. This will be best evidence for police to take action. Social media has not spared even ministers and big shots then who this chap in your organisation is?
