My friend resigned on Apr 2nd.May 2nd is the last working day.His form was submitted on 13th July 2012(60 days from relieving date as said by HR).Hr people are telling the time period for crediting PF into account is still 60 to 90 days.He asked them to credit at an earlier date.they are answering like we are doing free service to the ex-employees by looking into the PF matter.actually the employees should look after their PF withdrawal issue on their own.is it true?.but one thing here is that they are making it late.also Hr people are saying that the PF officials are in a confusion about Annexure K.he didnt get a job till now.As they are saying, does annexure K come into picture in this context.I heard that Annexure K is necessary for transfer of PF funds from one account to another new account. Also in EPFindia site if he trying to know the status of his PF application, its showing "your application is rejected and it is being sent to the address mentioned by you".
is it mandatory for the HR people to look into PF of the Ex employees.if so please quote a text citing this.
also pls enlighten me on the above doubts..
thanks.

Dear Mr. Amraghu,
The employee can withdraw PF only after a minimum period of 2 months after his leaving the organization on th ereason that if the employer has to do the F&F then he needs to see if there is any dues on his PF and he has to pay the PF authorities.
In such cases the employer has to pay the PF dues of the left/seperated employees along with the existing employees and the dues are paid in the following month. The PF authorities will update thier records. As your PF withdrawal form is submitted to the PF office, it takes about 60-90 days or even more depnding on case to case.
Annexure K is a copy of transfer certificate from existing PF account to the new PF account along with the form 13.

In case if the employee has any PF due that has to be paid then the employer will pay while paying the PF amount of other employees in the next proceeding date of payment. For such left employees the employer gives a withdrawal form and it takes the PF authorities to update the same. This procedure takes about 60 days which is approximately 2 months. Yes, any HR executives looks into the pf of the employee. Annexure K is not necessary in case if the employee has not been employed elsewhere and has no new PF account.
