Hi have a problem. I joined new company and I had worked for previous company for 7 years. In my relieving letter of previous company it is 1 August, and present company I joined on 31 July. I had taken 2 days of leave in previous company(31 July and 1 August), and joined new company. Now I feel I will have problem in transfer of PF. Any thought on this please.

PF Organisation is not concerned about your relieving letter or appointment order. However, both these dates are required to be furnished in form 13 of PF for transferring the PF accounts. If your actual date of relieving is 1st August then the previous company would send form 10 with your name as left employee only along with September returns and contribution in respect of one day (of 1st Aug) would also be made in respect of you. Therefore, it can not be changed. What is practical is to change the date of joining with the present employer and make it 2nd of August and process the paper accordingly.

You may transfer the old PF accumulations to the new account by means of PF transfer form 13. Regards, Madhu.T.K
