Dear Sharmaniranjak,
PF is not applicable to this case. If his basic is Rs. 7000 then as per PF act this
employee's is exempted from PF either he is present or absent.

Dear Sharma,
PF has to be deducted if the salary of the employee is less than 6500. If the company is giving 7000 has salary then there is no need of PF deduction even if the amount becomes lessthan 6500 due to his absence.

Dear Kumar,
That is why I was saying that it is for the employer to decide whether to apply PF even the amount of salary is more than 6500 and the employee cant decide for voluntarily covering. But the thing is that the the employer has to cover all the employee voluntarily who is drawing more than 6500. In some MNC for the purpose of attracting the employees they are voluntarily covering the employees who draw more than 6500 as salary.

Dear All
In any organisation irrespective of its status like company or firm if it is restricting its contribution only to those employees below the PF limit basic of Rs.6500/-right from the beginning of the coverage period, then there is no need for covering that staff whose basic is above 6500/-. But suppose, the said organisation is covering all the employees irrespective of basic either below or above Rs.6500/-, then no single new or old employee can be exempted for PF coverage even though his basic is above Rs.6500/- But by submitting form No.XI the said new employee can be got exempted.
