Hi!
We have around 50 staff in my office. I need few ideas for Employee motivation. Mine is a Broking firm so we do such activities on Saturday's only.
I had conducted a picnic thrice in last year & nw I'm planning for Monsoon trekking. Other then this we celebrate employee's birthday & other occasion like Diwali, Makar Sankranti, Holi etc. I also used to send Good morning mails including Stories or thoughts.
Excluding this can anyone help me with some other activities or games which I can have once in a month in my office.

The activity mentioned by amee can extended to augment business functions. Suppose quiz program for marketing team may discuss and answer new marketing happening in the industry. I would prefer any activity not only just for fun but also add value to organization business.

How does one increase employee engagement? The simple answer is to more than fully, and I mean 100%+, meet their five basic needs: to be heard, to be respected, and to have competence, autonomy, and relatedness (purpose).

How to do that? Provide more than enough opportunities for them to voice their complaints, suggestions, and questions, and respond to those in a timely and very respectful manner to the satisfaction or better of the originator and any others affected. Listening and responding must be done in such a way to meet each of the five needs.

Unfortunately, most leaders are not skilled in how to listen. When they should be listening they are generally so busy thinking about how to answer or about something not even relevant to the communication that they don't actually hear the 93% or so of communication emanating from body language and tone of voice much less the spoken words. And most are hipshooters who give quick answers to what little they do absorb of what is being communicated, thus proving that they disrespect employees.

Serving ones team, be it 5 people or 5000 people, requires a strong dose of high quality training followed by lots of practice and coaching. Sadly, high quality training is generally not available and coaching/mentoring is also hard to find. If you need help, I am willing to coach/train.

Dear All,
Ameen has a detailed list of activites, and its really good. One suggestion in this, if we can add some charity related activites too,it helps ( Blood donation camp, Orphanage /Old age home visits, visiting schools etc). Any more activities would only can add to the list but , there needs to be a work life balance. else this effort will fizz out.
