Dear Sukhpreet,
Company policy for termination differs from company to company...
Also you have not mentioned whether teh boss is new..?
If yes, he can approach to his super boss and sort out teh matter.. he can also state that he would not like to report to him in future..
Check out for IJP - Internal Job Posting..
Ask your husband to take everything on mails.. whatever communication he does...
Even if his boss is not sending any mail ask your husband to send mails... so that he will have everything in documented format...
This were the general suggestions..
To help you more.. kindly post the exact situation...we all (Citehr Members) will be in a better position to help you...

Hello Sukhpreet,
I am with Sonali.
Pl mention the details of the situation--more the better, since this will give clarity of the situation to the members.
Coming to the bare facts of the case, given that your husband seems quite efficient, may be a better option is to change the job rather than getting into the situation that seems to be emerging in Airtel? Does he have that kind of time to spend on the course of action you suggest? The issue NEED NOT NECESSARILY be a right/wrong one--but more of prioritizing.
Sometimes it takes for an efficient officer to leave before the employer realizes his/her true value [have seen this situation even in very large corporations]. And since your husband worked here for 7 yrs, his performance would surely have been noticed by other top officials, apart form his immediate boss.

Based on performance, organization can promote demote as mentioned in standing order.
If employee is able to prove his performance up to the mark, can ask for better promotion
Any employee can put any harassment to Grievance committee which is constructed under I.A. Act where
10 or more employees are employed.

I joined in Microsoft one year back. and I am not assigned less work . my boss gave a low rating and harassing me to resign every day. at the same time asking me to fill the next year appraisal forms as part of normal appraisal process. and he is not keen on putting me in Performance improvement plan saying that they will give bad experience letter at the end of Performance period and terminate on the basis of bad performance.
