Hi vinay,

Good to discuss about what you have achieved in your profession. WEll iam froma science background, but my exp had always been in public relations, i worked as counsellor/students administrator......after a gap when iam back into the market, i see a new term in the market..HR human resources...good to hear that.........

I have joined a small consultancy as a recruiter, i have learnt a lot..especially studying the psychology of a person, behaviour, personality, stability, interests, zeal, attitude, it was only marketing that was involved screen the candidates filter them and promote the client to close their requirement....lot of convincing, selling the brand, much of social interaction. it was just like saboon bhejna.........

When i got into a small firm as HR in a generalist role, it is entirely different, you are the focal point.......starting from preparing job desriptions to policy making, pay roll, leave management, recruitemtn............its different........In just one year 8 mths of whole HR & recruiter exp...... i have achieved lot of satisfaction, patience, changed my perception towards the situations, learnt how to be bold and assertive, learnt diplomacy, learnt to say NO with a smile, learnt to understand others problems & come out with a convincing solutions.....its just like managing a HOMe ( family)..but here with many kids........yes the same resource planning, budget, cost cutting, counsel, empathy, motivating, except for cooking the rest all are just the same......... I STRONGLY FEEL OUR MOTHERS ARE THE BEST HR MANAGERS.......... let me not deivate the topic.....YES I ACHIEVED ALOT.....NOW I HAVE ACHIEVED CITE HR FRIENDS TOO.......THEY ALL ARE JUST AMAZING.......i am happy with what iam today.....that is what all matters in the end........

Dear Mr Vinay,
I am happy to know that you are doing survey on achievements in HR as a career. Basically, achievement or success is a relative term and its referenc changes from person to person depending upon one's point of view to look at it.
Speaking about myself, I joined HR & Admin by accident. At that time, I didn't even had formal education. Also I was not been able to speak or express myself in english.
Today, I am holding General Manager's position with a multinational company at Mumbai, with national and international awards to my credit. I did lot of experimentation and successfully implemented various HR policies and practices. As a hobby, I develop people (management people, MBA and engineering students) on various skills like business etiquette etc.
I came up long way with my hard work and focused efforts.
Looking back to my history, I feel it's my achievement.

Hello Mr. Vinay,

A very gud topic indeed.I feel every one inHR would like to be a part of this.

Anyways,I have similar very gud experiences as my other freinds and specially Sari has narrated. But ,one more difference I have found myself...that's personal...but still since getting into Hr has brought that ,I felt the need of mentioning it.

Earlier ,I was on a relatively junior post ,not knowing very much in detaill bout HR..was in a habit of taking a narrow view on most of the things..but suddenly when I got to join a more responsible and a higher post,I felt that I cannot afford to continue like that..I started giving a more clear and broader approach to things..this has helped me a lot to create a very gud image ,professionaly as well as personally too..now even my family members have started taking me as a more mature person then I was before and now I feel I can take worthwhile decisions in a much better way.

Have become a better person then before..this is waht i feel I have achieved :D
